Ingredient illustrations — OpenMoji, CC BY-SA 4.0
The small drawings beside ingredients come from OpenMoji, an open-source emoji and icon project, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International.
They were not used as-is. A selection of them was repackaged into a font, which makes that font an adaptation — so it is published here under the same licence, CC BY-SA 4.0, and can be downloaded and reused on those terms by anyone.
What was changed
- Subset from
OpenMoji-black-glyf.ttf(version 15.1.0) down to the 71 drawings the app actually uses. - Codepoints remapped to a supplementary private-use range starting at U+F0001, so iOS cannot substitute its own colour emoji font for these glyphs.
- Layout tables (GSUB and GPOS) dropped, and every advance width equalised so the drawings line up in a column.
- Font family renamed to
MealPlannerGlyphs, so this derivative is not mistaken for upstream OpenMoji. - No artwork was redrawn or recoloured. The outlines are OpenMoji's; colour is applied at display time by the app, not baked into the file.

The adapted font, the notice that ships with it, and the script that produces it.
MealPlannerGlyphs.ttf— The modified font, under CC BY-SA 4.0.LICENSE-OpenMoji.txt— The attribution and modification notice that ships beside it.build_ingredient_glyphs.py— The script that makes it, including the full glyph table. This is the source form.meal-planner-glyphs.zip— All three of the above, in one file.
Rebuilding it
The script downloads the pinned upstream release, verifies it against a recorded SHA-256, and rebuilds the font deterministically — the same inputs produce a byte-identical file, which is what makes the copy offered here checkable against the one in the app.
Everything else
The rest of the third-party work in the app, none of it modified:
- Firebase Apple SDK — Apache 2.0, for crash reporting and the app-integrity check.
