Common questions

Are my recipes synced between my phone and my iPad?

Yes, with Servi Plus, as long as both are signed in to the same Apple account — sync is the part of Plus people notice first. Your library syncs through your own private iCloud, which is a Plus feature, so a recipe you save on your phone is on your iPad shortly after. It goes nowhere near our servers — we cannot see it. Without Plus everything stays on the one device, and nothing you have saved is ever locked or taken away.

That also means it is an Apple-to-Apple arrangement: there is no browser version and no Android app, and it does not put your library on someone else's device. The links you send your family are a separate thing, and they show meal titles rather than your recipes.

You can export everything to a file at any time from Settings — your own copy, in a format that outlives the app.

Does my family need to download anything?

No. With Servi Plus, each person gets a private web link that opens in whatever browser they already have, on any phone including Android. No account, no password, no install. Only the person planning the meals needs Servi, and there is no account to make: Servi Plus stays with the Apple Account it was bought on.

Does it spot allergens in a recipe by itself?

It works them out from the ingredients and flags a recipe against everyone you've set up in your household, including a separate "may contain" for things that depend on the brand.

Treat that as a prompt to look, not as an answer.

Allergy information here is worked out automatically, and we've built it to be as accurate as we can. Even so, mistakes are possible — including missing something — so always check the actual ingredients yourself.

Which languages and devices does it work on?

English and Dutch, on iPhone and iPad, iOS 26 or later. Dutch is a real translation rather than a machine one — it includes an ingredient vocabulary so shopping lists merge and timers are found in Dutch recipes too.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete My Data permanently removes everything our server holds for your Apple Account: your family roster, every outstanding rating link and all ratings, a shopping list you shared, and your credit balances. Servi Plus itself isn't lost — Restore Purchases brings it back.

Deleting the app clears the recipes and plans on that device. With Servi Plus sync on, the copy in your own iCloud stays and comes back if you reinstall; remove it in iOS Settings under your name → iCloud.

Can I get my data out?

Yes — Settings → Export exports your whole library as a file, photos included if you want them.

Your library stays on your device — with Servi Plus it also lives in your own private iCloud and syncs between your iPhone and iPad, never touches our servers, and you can export everything any time.

If you publish recipes

If you'd rather the app didn't import from your site, write to the address above and it will be blocked server-side within seven days. Requests are honoured permanently, and robots.txt is respected.
